"Pulled by the Root" Podcast by Heidi Marble

Earlier this year Maria Angelica was invited for the Pulled by the Root Podcast, run by Heidi Marble and her team.

With her Podcast, Heidi wants to provide a safe space for sharing thoughts, creative expression and community. As humans we all have a need to belong, to understand our origin and the circumstances that brought us into the world.

Heidi started with interviewing Maria Angelica where she tells about her history. As a young girl she got separated and became adoptable after which she ended up in Sweden.

Chilean Adoptees Worldwide “CAW” was founded by Alejandro Quezada, Maria Angelica Martinez and Jessica Pincheira who were adopted illegally to the Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium. In the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s a wave of children were leaving Chili through adoption during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Many of these children were not relinquished voluntarily.

In the first episode, Maria shares her personal journey in heart wrenching detail. In the second episode, Alejandro and Jessica join us to share more about the life changing work they are doing. Illegal adoption and child trafficking are a global problem. “CAW” not only wants to bring justice and healing for Chilean Adopted People they also want to join hands with adopted people around the world to strengthen our voices. In the next opportunity, Heidi was so kind to invite the three founders of the CAW-Platform, Angelica, Jessica and Alejandro to talk about the work they do and the reasons behind it.
